Christmas Cheer!

When creating my advertisement I wanted to appeal to all audiences. I used the theme of Christmas colors to really bring people in. Everyone loves Christmas and they love the whole theme of it. I added my logo into my ad to show people who is presenting the concert. To create my ad, I started by adding texture to the background and also adding color. I used the magic want tool to color in the areas of the logo, so that it all blended. To add depth to my text, I added shadowing to the words. I copied and pasted a picture from a free public domain website. I cropped and resized the picture to fit the page better. I also copied and resized my logo on the ad. For my red words I used a tool to sink them into the page. I really liked how it turned it, and I love the theme of the page!

Simple yet elegant

For my logo project, I chose to create a logo for our glee club. My logo is simple and gets the message across. The microphone indicates that the club is for singing.  I chose to go with the simple color scheme of black and white to get my message across. The colors make the logo simple to read but still elegant. In my logo I used some line and white space as my elements. I used the end of the microphone cord to frame the second word. I also have a lot of white space so that you can focus on the logo rather than a background image.

From normal to fake

The first picture of me is before photoshop and the picture under the before is my after photoshop. I demonstrated how you can take an ordinary person and change them into a celebrity. In this case I changed myself into Katy Perry.  I felt like I did a good job changing myself into her without looking too fake, but then it is only as good as photoshop can make me. Now knowing that anyone can be changed into anyone else, its scary. Celebrities can be airbrushed and look perfect, it gives us a false image of these people. I really did well on blending the skin, even though her face is lighter than her neck. It was hard to get it just right but after a while I got a hang of things. This gives a false picture of what beauty really is, young girls look at this and don't feel beautiful. They instead feel the need to be perfect. I feel the picture needs more improvement on getting my face to look like it belongs on Katy Perry's body. To me I look so fake and need to have my face looking airbrushed and beautiful. I can also work on making my eyes look bigger, because katys' are naturally big and mine are way too small.

A day in the life of me!

From this project, I have learned how hard it is to capture my life in pictures. You can not capture the jokes and personality of the people in my life. I also learned how to apply all the tools in photoshop to my pictures. In one of my pictures I applied the element of simplicity. The lockers is a simple and clean picture. To most of pictures I cropped them to show you the main point of the picture. In the pictures that my friends are smiling, I used a tool to enhance the whiteness of their teeth. To whiten the teeth you need to lasso around the teeth than change the hue of the teeth to white. On the picture of the stairs, I needed to rotate it, so I used what I had learned from a fellow student. On the close-ups of peoples faces, I used a tool to erase the blemishes on their faces. This tool was the most handy to use.

The last tool I used was to fix the glare on my friends sunglasses. I had to cut out and copy one side of the sunglasses to put over the other. I then had to blend it all in so that it looked normal. To finish the collage, I used the layer tools to cut and copy pictures to one page. Photoshop was very helpful in the making of my collage.

Photography

In my first picture,I have a simple picture of a peach. There is no other distracting items in this picture making it very simple. The light background gives all the attention to the bright orange color of the peach. This is a great picture to represent simplicity.

In this picture you get a sense of the lines and the symetery. The lines are simple and clean. With the camera turned at a different angle, it gives the lines more depth. It is a very smeterical picture. It looks very cool with the lines criss crossing and the colors make it very simple.

In this last picture, it displays a balance. You have a object in the middle, that has objects on it. On either side of the table you have identical objects. This creates a sense of balance. The chairs draw your attention away from the chair, but you also still have the table in sight.

My podcast; KAB news

By law stealing music is wrong and to me stealing anything is wrong. I especially think stealing someone else's work is wrong. When you steal someone else's music, your not properly giving that artist the money and respect they deserve. We made a podcast talking about copyright infringement. From this project, my eyes have been opened to a whole new world of stealing. I strongly believe the laws should be put in place for copyright infringement. Without laws, people would steal more and more. These people should be punished and laws will punish these people.Piracy is looked down upon in our society because simply its wrong. Your taking another persons hard work and using it as your own and selling it for money. The artist who created the music should be getting that money not you. Its just like if you went to a store and stole something, you would be in trouble. So if your stealing songs than you should also be getting into trouble.

If someone decided to use my podcast as thier own, I would be highly mad. i would confront that person and make them pay the conquensces. I worked hard on our podcast and if someone took it, I would feel desvasted. Why would someone be so mean as to take someone else's work. Today's world just isnt as pleasnt as it was 100 years ago. I would never take someone elses work because I know how my it would hurt them .This is why I get all of my music legally and so should everyone else!

Micheal Bolton vs. the Isley Brothers

Before we went over the laws of copyright infringement, I had no clue what was legal and what was illegal. Now that I have learned all the laws, I will be sure to cite all my sources and to not take anyone elses work. I thought it was only a song put into a video on youtube, but it's more. When you take someone else's work then your stealing from them. I will be sure to properly use someone else's work.

In the case of  Micheal Bolton vs. the Isley Brothers copyright infringement, they shared the same song and had the same lyrics.  Micheal Bolton was of course way more popular than the Isley Brothers. With Micheal being so popular, it didn't matter because he stole someone elses work. The Isley Brothers wrote the song "Love is a wonderful thing" in 1966 and in 1991 Micheal "created" the same song with the exact same lyrics. Of course the case was taken to court. The Isley Brothers won the case and walked away with 5.4 million dollars. This couldn't  have gone unseen, Micheal was in the wrong to just competely steal someone elses song. Micheal broke the law by taking someone elses work without their permission and selling it as thier own. Micheal was making thousands off someone elses hard work. It doesn't matter who is popular and who is not. Micheals punishment was only faced with civil penalities. I think Micheal got off "easy" he should of had to pay more or have gone to jail. Just because he's famous doens't make him "special" and able to get out of sticky situations so easily.
